In the beginning I show you your basic chords and scales and we look at applying them into songs and styles you want to play. I usually split lessons in half, starting with core skills and grades if you chose to do grades and then moving onto looking at tunes you want to learn. I’m very flexible with my lessons and want you to feel like you are getting the absolute most out of the hour. I weave theory into lessons from the beginning in a way that prevents it from becoming this daunting subject, constantly building on what you already know. I also really encourage the value of free play and improvisation so once we have the basics of scales down I turn the focus onto improvisation and solo techniques. Because let’s be honest, we all want to absolutely shred the guitar and nail that solo from stairway to heaven. I love music and I love the guitar, I want my lessons to dive deeper than just learning an instrument. I always share tips and tricks to improve gear. I also show you how to restring guitars and set them up so they play well. I keep eyes out for gear and always look for good deals if you wish to buy new guitars and amplifiers. My outlook is simple, we set up good habits together and a good discipline, then once you are feeling confident we break all the rules we can to explore and find new ways to connect with the guitar! While my prices are set hourly I also work with deals if you buy lessons in bulk. Let’s rock!
