Monica Rodriguez

My name is Monica and I'm a Spanish who has been leaving in London for the past eleven years. My education is extensive in nursing, my main job and passion, including a bachelor degree and a master but I also have experience teaching Spanish in different volunteering projects (Nepal and South America), with children of ages between 5-14 years old. I'm confident at teaching adults as I have been a mentor while working as a nurse.
I believe that every lesson should be tailored to the students' needs in order to achieve their academic goals while enjoying the journey. I normally like to include some grammar and vocabulary in every class using different tools like reading, listening to lyrics and conversation. I will discuss the homework and other tasks individually with each student and offer support to complete them during the lesson if needed.
My approach to teaching Spanish is a fun and enjoyable experience where I like my students to interact and be part of the process, not merely receivers of the lesson. I love using written resources as well as online ones, like posts, videos or movies and encourage my pupils to participate and suggest new resources. I am working towards completing an official teaching qualification but teaching students is definitely the most valuable experience to combine with the theory part.
I am reliable and flexible, easily adaptable to different schedules including mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. I am friendly and approachable but consistent to deliver a dynamic and meaningful lesson.
