I aim to make my Spanish lessons as interactive, engaging, and enjoyable as possible. I incorporate a range of gamified elements and creative tasks to ensure that students remain motivated while also learning effectively. Whether we’re playing vocabulary games, doing quick-fire grammar challenges, or using interactive quizzes to reinforce what we've covered, I try to strike a balance between fun and focused learning. I know that language learning isn’t just about memorisation - it’s about building confidence and developing a real-world understanding of how the language works.

To support this, I use a wide variety of online materials tailored to each student’s needs and learning style. These include PowerPoint presentations to explain grammar points clearly, digital flashcards for vocabulary building, online games for listening and reading comprehension and video clips to expose students to different accents and cultural contexts. I also design mini speaking tasks, listening exercises, and writing prompts based on topics of interest, so that each skill is developed in a meaningful and connected way. I might even use music, short stories, cartoons or clips from Spanish-speaking influencers and YouTubers to immerse students in the language in a way that feels relevant and engaging.

I’m also a very patient tutor and will always take the time to ensure students fully understand something before we move on. If a grammar rule or vocabulary set isn’t quite clicking, I’m more than happy to explain it in a new way, try a different activity, or slow things down until it makes sense. I believe that it’s far more important for a student to have clarity and confidence than to rush through material just for the sake of progress. Every learner is different, and I’ll always adapt to whatever pace and approach works best for them.

Finally, I believe that a genuine love for languages comes when you can connect what you’re learning with your own personal interests. That’s why I always try to bring the student’s hobbies, passions, and goals into our sessions - whether that's using Spanish football commentary, film scenes, fashion blogs, or even travel plans as a springboard for learning. When language learning feels relevant to your life, it becomes not just easier, but much more enjoyable. My goal is to help students not only improve, but also fall in love with the language and culture.
