I like to split my lessons into 2 parts.The first part will be me explaining the topic and going through example questions.The second part will be the student practicing questions with increasing difficulty (The student will be able to ask for help at any point while practicing questions).I like to simplify more difficult topics by using slang and basic speech to not confuse the student and from my 1 year of tutoring GCSE students at my school I have found that this technique is very effective.
