My name is Mirian and I have been a Spanish tutor ever since I started working in the UK. I have been both a language assistant (developing students' oral skills) and a full-time Spanish teacher (teaching all the way from Year 9 to Year 13).
The lessons I offer are tailored to each student's goals and needs. My main focus is oral work with a practical approach, that is, finding out the vocabulary and grammar the student needs the most for their communication purposes. I combine general conversation with topic-focused activities, which can be oral, written or interactive. Regarding the latter, I use platforms such as Quizlet or Liveworksheets to make the learning more engaging. In terms of the platform used for the online lessons, I am open to using the most convenient platform available for the student and tend to use a shared presentation on Google Slides as a written support for instructions and explanations.
