I hold a PhD in Finance from the University of Strathclyde and spent four years as a Teaching Assistant there, delivering tutorials in Quantitative Methods for Finance, Advanced Corporate Finance, and Financial Statistics to both undergraduate and postgraduate students. In 2023 I was nominated for Outstanding Tutor of the Year by the Student Union and achieved a 92% student satisfaction rating, which I am proud of but also treat as a reminder to keep improving.
Outside of university teaching, I have worked with many students one-on-one through private tutoring, helping them tackle coursework, prepare for exams, and complete their dissertations. Most of my students were aiming for 70 and above, and I consistently helped them get there.
My approach is straightforward: I start by understanding exactly where you are struggling and why, then work through the material in a way that builds genuine understanding rather than surface-level familiarity. I do not use a fixed script. Some students need someone to slow down and explain the foundations from scratch. Others need help connecting concepts they already know. I adapt to what actually helps you move forward.
