Typically my lessons will last about 1 hour and be split up into an introduction of the topic, an explanation, some basic Q&A to understand comprehension, before creating a scenario in which this point can be tested and expanded upon. As I further understand your interests and key components of language you are interested in, I can begin to further tailor lessons to your desired topics.
For total beginners, I will approach Japanese through grammar and vocab introduction, point by point, building off of a strong foundation. A typical lesson might look something like:
Ice-breaker to slip students into a learning focus, or to recap content from previous lessons
Introduction of main grammar point, with an explanation
An introduction to an activity that allows the learner to start to use this grammar point in contextual situations.
Checking the answers with the student to ensure the main point is fully understood.
Closing remarks and a final scenario in which the grammar point can be fully expressed through a task or activity.
For intermediate learners, lesson structures will look slightly different. The structure of introduction/explanation/activity will remain the same, but there will be more of a focus on implementing your previous knowledge to build up more advanced language use.
I have experience in teaching in classroom scenarios, with a concrete lesson plan as well as individual tutoring where we may go through a textbook together with regular checks of understanding and Concept Checking Questions. I believe in having a flat dynamic with my students, where I as your teacher am there to help and guide you. I am very approachable and believe in clear casual communication.
I hope to see you in the (virtual) classroom!
