As a 20 year old myself who has completed GCSEs, A-levels and now at University I have used many revision techniques and received many different teaching methods. I tend to stray away from old fashioned teaching (reading a text book and testing students about said textbook). I find talking and discussing subjects that both the teacher and student are passionate about helps both parties engage even more. If my student is sitting GCSE’s or A-levels in the near future I look over their specification and find out ways to help them engage with the subjects at hand - as interesting or boring as they are. A big part of my teaching methods are just making conversation in the language they are learning, this does not only teach them what is needed for their exams but it also teaches them how to use the language in the real world. I am training my students to be able to take my lessons and use them wherever possible. Examples of methods I use is taking a students favourite song and taking out words and having them complete them in Spanish/English - a great way to make the learning fun but also keeping it educational. I like to set challenges such as have them watch a movie throughout the week that is in Spanish and having them talk to me about what they liked, disliked and their overall opinion of the movie.
