Hello! My name is Michelle, and I understand the difficulty of GCSEs, especially with the specificity that GCSE biology requires. However, through using consistent visualization, spaced repetition, and past papers, I achieved a grade 9 in Biology, and straight 9/8s in my GCSEs. I believe my expertise can be incredibly beneficial for students, especially those struggling in the sciences. For my lessons, we will use a targeted approach utilizing active recall and spaced repetition. During the first lesson, I will begin with a general quiz to target weak points, before discussing the student's learning style. During subsequent sessions, if they have a visual learning style for example, we will work together to create visual diagrams and flashcards for weaker topics. Alternatively, if they have an auditory learning style, I will talk the student through their weaker points, and we will then create mnemonics to revise the concept. Next, we will revisit this knowledge using past paper questions to pair knowledge with exam technique. I will also assign personalized homework for each student surrounding the topic discussed. I would encourage a student to revisit the homework in a few days to ensure spaced repetition. At the end of each month, any topics we have discussed will be revisited during a review session. Here, my student will do a mini timed test of past paper questions in exam conditions for half the session, and the other half will be used to review any mistakes and target points that need further time and consideration. I hope you consider me as your tutor, as I believe I can really benefit you or your child's education and future.
