Critical thinking can help you become better at problem-solving, decision-making, and independent reasoning. Whilst this is primarily aimed at a professional environment, critical thinking can also be applied to a personal or academic context.
To plan a valuable critical thinking tutoring experience, I'd need to first understand your goals, interests, and current thinking habits. This will help me help you feel impact and value from sessions. As a facilitator, I would spend the initial part of our first session validating the support you feel you require, and use consultation to work with you to build up lesson plans for any further sessions.
I'd structure your sessions around active questioning, real-life scenarios, and reflection exercises, but you will guide on topic choice and set the pace. I've often been described as enabling by my teams, so it is important I continue that style here and I hope you will feel like you can own how this works for you.
I'd use a range of concepts, examples and resources I think would benefit you based on that initial information and seek feedback before and after each session with you, to give us both confidence that the route we take makes sense, gives you the outcomes you seek for growth and that our approach is agreeable.
Please let me know if you have any questions to help establish if I am the right tutor for you, to help determine if your current or anticipated situation might lend itself to my approach. I imagine you will be new to leadership/management, from a technical or non-technical background, have senior professionals reporting to you, or were once technical and moving into line management responsibilities. But there really isn't a profile I wouldn't consider supporting.
