Mia Nadeskumar

I'm Mia. I’m currently a second-year student studying History and Politics at the University of Warwick. I greatly enjoy tutoring students as I get to watch them grow more confident in themselves and individuals and in their academic abilities. I specialise in teaching Maths, English and Science up to GCSE (AQA and Edexcel) and am able to tutor in History (OCR) and Politics A-Level (Edexcel). I am an experienced tutor having worked with young 11+ children through to GCSE students for the last four years. My priority is ensuring my students feel seen and supported in their learning to achieve their full potential. I believe strongly that students ought to feel included in their own learning rather than being lectured at. I offer a well-rounded, engaging approach catering to your needs and provide mentorship. My teaching involves a focus on thinking critically and problem solving, whether it be about texts or STEM. My degree has allowed me to develop critical analysis skills to a great level, which I believe is an incredibly important skill to develop at a young age. For STEM subjects, I will conduct an initial screening to assess skill level and begin focusing on subject areas that require specific attention. I teach the subject material and follow this with practicing many exam questions to ensure students can produce the answers exam boards are looking for. I employ a focus on problem solving and taking creative approaches to thinking about difficult questions. I take a similar approach with humanities subjects, focusing on source-based analysis, dissecting core texts, applying language techniques and improving writing style in essays.
