My lessons are personalised to each student and their individual needs. I usually begin by using a short test, questions or recommendations from the student to identify areas they are struggling with. This allows me to understand their strengths and weaknesses and plan the lesson around the topics that would benefit them most.

Once I have identified the weaker areas, I go through the relevant content with the student, breaking down difficult concepts into simpler explanations and checking their understanding throughout. I encourage students to ask questions and I am happy to explain a concept in different ways until they feel confident with it.

After reviewing the content, I move on to exam-style questions. I believe that understanding the content is only part of achieving a high grade, so I place a strong focus on exam technique. We work through questions together, looking at how to structure answers, identify what the question is asking and use mark schemes effectively. I also highlight common mistakes and show students how to improve their answers.

I aim to create a friendly and supportive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions. My experience of studying Biology and Chemistry at A-Level and achieving A*s in both subjects, alongside preparing for the UCAT and now studying Medicine at UCL, has given me a strong understanding of the challenges students face. I want to use this experience to help students become more confident, improve their exam technique and achieve their academic goals to succeed.
