I am a British national with a bachelor's in English. I have 9 years of experience in teaching ESL to students of all ages and levels in English (from A1-C2), as well as teaching English to native speakers. For the past several years, I have taught English in international schools and language institutes in countries such as Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE. Currently, I have been teaching at Carfax Education, a global education company, as a Senior ESL instructor for the past three years. During my time as a teacher, I have developed several strategies to capture my students’ attention and share my passion for the English language.

A few of my other teaching highlights include:

• Developing targeted curriculum, planning instructional / training programs, and educating students of diverse ages and backgrounds in subjects such as career development, reading and writing, language skills, and software programs.
• Communicating effectively and compassionately with students from all corners of the globe facing cultural, language, and general assimilation challenges.
• Incorporating individual schools’ philosophies and academic objectives into lessons while ensuring allowance for creativity and flexibility.
• Continually facilitate an open, consistent, and nurturing learning environment where students are motivated to learn and driven by their successes and accomplishments.
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies, including whole/small group instruction, differentiated, individualized attention, inquiry-based learning, and exploratory learning to make sure students of all learning abilities are successful.

As a skilled ESL teacher with 5 years of experience, I have developed lesson plans and curricula for students of all ages. Classroom management, personalized learning programs, and innovative educational techniques are just a few of my areas of expertise. By teaching students of a wide range of ages and situations, I have honed my communication, creativity, and motivational skills. My inherent passion for fostering collaborative and engaging educational environments has successfully encouraged and developed productive, thoughtful, and accomplished ESL students.

An example lesson would be the following:

The class begins with a warm-up activity, where students play a game of "Two Truths and a Lie" to introduce themselves and practice using present tense verbs. Each student shares three statements about themselves, two of which are true and one of which is a lie, and the rest of the class guesses which statement is the lie. This activity helps to build rapport among students and encourages them to speak in English.

Next, the teacher introduces the lesson topic for the day, which is vocabulary related to food and cooking. The teacher shows pictures of different types of food, and students work in pairs to brainstorm words that describe the food, such as "spicy," "sweet," "sour," "crunchy," etc. The teacher then models how to use these words in sentences, and students practice speaking by describing their favorite foods and what they like to cook.

After the vocabulary activity, the teacher introduces a cooking-themed listening activity. Students listen to a short audio clip of a cooking show and answer questions about the ingredients, the recipe, and the cooking process. This activity helps students improve their listening comprehension skills while also teaching them new vocabulary related to cooking.

Next, the teacher leads a group discussion about diverse cultural foods and how they are prepared in different parts of the world. Students share information about their own cultural foods and traditions, and the teacher facilitates the discussion by asking open-ended questions and encouraging students to express their opinions and ideas.

To wrap up the class, the teacher assigns a homework assignment related to the day's lesson, such as writing a recipe or creating a menu for a fictional restaurant. The teacher also encourages students to continue practicing their English outside of class by reading English-language cookbooks or watching cooking shows in English.

Throughout the class session, the teacher incorporates a variety of activities that are interactive, engaging, and relevant to students' interests. By incorporating games, discussions, and real-life examples, the teacher creates a fun and dynamic learning environment that encourages students to participate actively and feel motivated to learn.
