Whether it may be visual, discussion based and conversational, or past practice questions - I am more than happy to accommodate to whichever means necessary to help the student reach their full potential. Whilst many of my lessons will involve a lot of discussions and talk throughs about concepts, key-ideas and tips/tricks I also like to allow the students to put it to use in writing practice but the levels in which they will occur can be determined by what we both feel are the areas that need to be worked on. For example if the struggle is due to time management then practice questions and summaries to access maximum marks will be practiced so students understand what writing points are worthy of marks verses ones that may be deemed 'unnecessary waffle'. If the student struggles with content then I will gladly re-teach in areas that they need reminders on. With occasional mini quizzes and sometimes me asking the for YATE talk to me ( 'You Are The Expert' ) in which the student does a knowledge and brain dump on a certain topic to me to see how many specified points they can cover!
