My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to the student’s needs. I usually start by identifying what the student already understands and where they need help, then I build the lesson around their goals, whether that’s understanding a topic, improving confidence, or preparing for exams.
I like to keep lessons interactive rather than just talking at the student. I use clear explanations, diagrams or examples where helpful, and short questions throughout to check understanding and make sure the student is actively engaged.
In terms of content, I focus on breaking down difficult biology topics into simpler parts and making them easier to remember and apply. I also like to include exam-style questions, revision techniques, and practical study tips so students not only learn the material but also know how to use it effectively.
As for experience, I have a strong background in biology and biomedical science through my degree (BSc Biomedical Science with honours in Pharmacology) and current MRes in Drug delivery and nanomedicine, so I’m comfortable explaining topics in a clear and approachable way. I aim to create a relaxed but productive atmosphere where students feel comfortable asking questions and making progress at their own pace. I am happy to be available if any questions arise while they are doing work of their own, and truly want each student to excel in their exams. It's a daunting time at this age I know, but I am here to make this as easy and accessible as possible!
