I am very qualified in the ins and outs of the French language and GCSE or A-Level exams, having achieved a Grade 9 in my French GCSE with almost full marks, as well as being predicted an A* for A-Level French. I have mentored students in both French and Spanish GCSEs in the past, watching them make consistent progress with grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary, as well as confidence in speaking. Having recently completed these exams, I have a wide range of tips and tricks at hand to ensure success in each exam component. My lessons will be completely tailored to you and your preferences, as well as focusing on expanding on what you do know, and developing what you don’t. I foster a friendly and relaxed learning environment where asking questions is always encouraged. I will get students to do a quick test in our first session to establish what we need to work on together, and from there on it will be an entirely engaging format with textbook exercises and past papers to provide accurate and useful practice opportunities. I always encourage students to read texts through multiple times, with my own guidance, building on translation and comprehension skills after each read. There will also be frequent conversational practices to improve fluency and increase confidence in coming up with responses on the spot. Sessions will last either 1 or 2 hours depending on the wishes of the student, allowing us to discuss through any issues or struggles together and improve understanding, and overall confidence and enjoyment of the French language.
