Maya Biegun

I am a qualified primary school teacher with a decade of classroom experience; I am committed to providing my pupils with the support and guidance they need to achieve their goals. I have a BA in English Literature from the University of York and a PGCE and MA in Primary Education from UCL.

My experience is predominantly in Key Stage 2 and I have spent many years in Year 6, helping children to make excellent progress in their SATs and preparing them for secondary school. I offer a wide range of tuition to help your child develop the skills and knowledge they need to be confident in their learning. Whether they need support with maths, reading, writing, SATs preparation or in preparation for 11+ exams, I have the experience and skills to help!

My pedagogical approach is up-to-date and research based: breaking topics down into small chunks and revisiting frequently to aid understanding and commitment to long-term memory. I understand that different pupils learn in different ways and make an effort to get to know my pupils in order to understand how best to support them on their learning journey.

My tuition sessions are 100% tailored and individualised to suit your child. I plan and create all resources according to my pupils’ needs and can set homework and provide guidance for independent study if desired. I am passionate about helping children feel confident and enthusiastic about their learning. The most important thing for me is that pupils enjoy me sessions!
