About me:
As someone who has excelled at several levels of education in Social Sciences, I hold the experience and credentials to where I can comfortably tutor on a range of given Social Sciences topics between Key Stages 3 and 4, ranging from History, to Sociology, to Film Studies. Being a recent alumni of my university, I know how difficult maintaining revision and engagement with curriculae can be, and as a result strive to foster a conversational learning environment that is as relaxed, open, and free as possible. If you do not know something, or are having trouble understanding, or coping, then you should be able to ask without fear of reprisal; this is how I believe learning should work. What is more, any advice needed on study tips, or revision techniques (as opposed to module knowledge itself) I would gladly offer.

Lesson style (remote or in-person):
My lessons are generally conversational, with an emphasis on discussing a given Social Sciences topic in a fluent manner, so as to aid the writing of essays or answering of long-form questions. Given topics and modules will be run through, and discussed, in a high degree of detail so as to check the understanding and memorisation of the student regarding the relevant topic. This is how I learnt in school; doing extracurricular reading on the topic in my spare time, and then discussing it. Any misunderstandings or queries the student may have will be gone through, ensuring that they have a technique to remember what they might be struggling to, or that they have a means of improving upon a weakness in their understanding. I performed very well writing essays during my days at school, and can vouch for the fact that the only way to improve is by getting used to the conceptualising of an answer into a long-form structure, whereby the student is organising their ideas into different sections fluently and coherently. Once this way of structuring an argument becomes natural (usually through repeated effort), writing an essay honestly is not that hard! All this will be covered and helped with in lessons, where I can go through essays and give tips on structure and writing style. I know how challenging it can be because I did it too!
