Matthew Perkins

I have a Master's degree in Biochemistry from Lancaster University where I worked in several different research labs. I have experience explaining complex scientific ideas in a clear and accessible way. My primary teaching topics are biology and chemistry, including molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry.

I aim to make my lessons clear, structured and suited to the needs of each student. I will focus on helping to understand key concepts and applying this knowledge to problem solving situations rather than focusing only on memorisation.

Prior to the lesson I will ask if there are any particular areas of difficulty we should focus on. Students are encouraged to ask questions and I will adapt the pace of lesson according to their level and goals.
