Mather Zung

As a fluent French speaker and IB Bilingual Diploma graduate, I have developed a deep understanding of both the language and the cultural contexts in which it is used. My academic background includes studying STEM subjects such as biology in French, strengthening my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively across different proficiency levels.

In my current role as a French Language Counsellor at Washington International School, I design and deliver engaging, student-centered lessons for young learners ranging from beginner to immersion levels. This experience has taught me how to adapt my teaching style to individual needs, foster confidence in language use, and create a supportive online learning environment. Moreover, this provides proven experience using French in a professional setting.

Additionally, my international education and experience living and studying in diverse environments have enhanced my cultural sensitivity and adaptability—qualities I believe are essential for effective online tutoring. I bring extensive experience operating in francophone countries including living in francophone Africa as well as extensive cultural immersion in France itself.
