Mateja Svonja

Hey, my name's Mateja and I previously worked as a Biology tutor during my secondary/college studies. I'm passionate about sea life, biology, and the environment, and I'd love to teach you more about the courses you might have some trouble understanding.

My lessons are completely individualized - first, we discuss your goals, expectations, and availability to meet online. I am very flexible and can adapt my schedule to meet your needs. After that, we create a study plan, including the topics you have trouble with in school, would like me to review or explain again, or any other parts of the subject you need help with. The study plan includes learning objectives per week and for each lecture, a timetable of weekly lectures (if and as many as needed), additional check-ins/reviews via email/call, and study and review material (if needed) included in each topic.

After the planning stage, I prepare for each lecture, explaining the topic with examples and giving you practice material in the form of worksheets, interactive quizzes, and additional reading that adds more clarity and improves your understanding of the topic.

Each lecture includes an explanation, examples, and lecture review, followed by short activities, completed on your own, which help you remember the key points and facilitate your learning. At the end of each week, I conduct a short review of everything we covered and provide you with a short study guide.

I am very flexible to meet or chat about your questions and concerns. I am available to answer any lecture/topic-related questions via email, but I always address them after or before each lecture.
