My lessons are relaxed, friendly and focused on helping students build confidence in their learning. I’m a qualified teacher with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a PGTA qualification from my teacher training. I believe that understanding the concepts behind each topic is just as important as knowing the content itself. Rather than simply memorising information, I want students to understand why things happen and how different ideas link together. For example, in Science, this could mean developing a proper understanding of energy stores and transfers, rather than just learning definitions.
Lessons take place online, making it easy for students to learn comfortably from home. I explain topics step by step, go through examples together and give students plenty of opportunities to practise what they've learned. A big part of my teaching is helping students apply their knowledge to exam-style questions, understand exactly what questions are asking and recognise what examiners are looking for. I place particular emphasis on developing the skills needed to tackle more challenging questions and work towards the higher GCSE grades (8–9).
I also encourage questions and make sure students feel comfortable asking for help whenever they don't understand something. Whether it's going over difficult topics, strengthening understanding, improving exam technique or preparing for GCSE exams, my aim is to make learning easier and less stressful while helping students reach their full potential.
