I am a current Customer Success Manager with 5 years of experience in Customer Service and 4+ years of experience tutoring online and in person at Primary, GCSE, A Level, and ESL. As I have experience in the professional world, I can offer advice and explain the difference between standard English and that which is required in a professional setting, as well as colloquialisms you'll need to understand going forward.
I have a Master's degree in Biodomedical Science and have been tutoring for over 4 years. I have experience tutoring all ages, both online and in person. I also spent a year abroad in China teaching English to young students from ages 2 to 18. Before this, I spent a year in London teaching English to refugees, taking assessments to prove a level of English that allows them to stay in the UK.
My teaching style is structured yet fun and engaging. You will be given homework centred around what we have learned, but it will be real-life practice instead of worksheets. Lessons will be a mix of structured slides and conversational practice. The best way to learn is to apply it! I am happy to do group lessons also, as it can be more fun when you get your friends/family involved. I care about my students' opinions and am happy to tweak lessons to suit your style, within reason. For example, if you are studying for a particular exam, I can use the curriculum that will give you the best advantages and mark your practice papers, given I have access to the mark scheme.
