Hello, I am Marty! I studied Maths up to A-Level, getting a 9 at GCSE and an A* at A-Level. I am now in my third year of a political science degree. I miss having the mathematical side to my studies and would like to tutor so as to bring that back. I have tutored for the past academic year, working both 1-1 and 3-1 with children aged 11-16, coaching them weekly up to their exams. I really enjoy tutoring and seeing my students improve every week and am excited to keep doing it!

When it comes to lesson plans, I like to personalise my lessons to the students as I believe one lesson plan will fail to fit all. I always begin my first lesson by going through the syllabus and checking where students are stronger and weaker. From there on, the student and I together will plan a week by week structure of how we are going to cover all the content in the time we have. I aim to focus on one topic per lesson as to get full depth.

The lessons will begin with an outline of the main points you need to know about a topic. This will be followed by short 1/2 mark questions to make sure the student is confident on the basics of a topic before continuing onto the longer questions in which I will walk through with example and then provide review questions for the student to follow up with.

Although I have mainly worked with GCSE Maths, I would be happy to focus on KS3 or the beginnings of A-Level as well.
