Hi, my name's Martin. I believe that jumping straight in and doing a lesson with someone I know nothing about is usually a bad idea, so I like to start by doing a needs analysis. This can be done online using Zoom, Teams, Google Meet or whatever platform you prefer, but it could also be done over the phone or even possibly face-to-face (depending on location) if that's more convenient. The needs analysis is free of charge and is partly an opportunity to get to know each other a little and determine if we'll be a good fit before proceeding with lessons. As well as a conversation, I'll also ask you to complete a short level test which will enable me to identify any gaps that you may have and tailor the lessons more precisely to your needs. Naturally, my lessons vary depending on the student - for example, some students want only conversation practice with correction, while others want to build their grammar and vocabulary or need help with writing for exams such as IELTS, etc. In any case, I keep the lessons as interactive as possible and can provide all materials either on printed paper (if face-to-face) or as PDFs via email. I have over 11 years' experience now (3 and a half at a language school, then private), so I'm able to teach most types of English class and have taught adults of all ages and abilities from many different countries. There is no commitment to book a certain number of lessons.
