About me

I follow the immersive methodology I mastered during my training at the Berlitz Institute, which means our sessions will be conducted almost entirely in English—from day one. This helps you think in English, not just translate from Spanish

My name is Martin, and I'm not just an English teacher — I'm someone who once dreaded English more than any other subject. Today, I teach because one teacher changed everything for me. That's exactly the kind of teacher I want to be for you.

Lesson format:
Each session lasts between 45 and 60 minutes. We always start with a short, low-pressure conversation — something like "What made you smile today?" or "Tell me about one small challenge you faced." This warms up your brain for English and builds confidence from the first second.

After that, we move into a focused learning block. This might cover grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, or listening. But I never teach rules in isolation. Everything we learn connects immediately to real-life use — ordering food, writing an email, introducing yourself at work, or sharing an opinion online.

The middle of our lesson is the most active. We do role-plays, short debates, storytelling exercises, or listening tasks with songs, news clips, or TV show dialogues. You speak at least 70% of the time. I listen, guide, correct gently, and celebrate every win — no matter how small.

We always end with a quick review and a personal note: one thing you did well, and one small goal for the next days. I also send you a short voice note or written summary after class with practical tips.

Content & lesson dynamics:
Every student is different — so every lesson is different too. If you're a beginner, we'll focus on survival English, basic sentence structures, and high-frequency words. If you're intermediate or advanced, we'll work on fluency, accent reduction, writing clarity, or professional communication.

I use engaging materials like short articles, memes, YouTube clips, and even your own WhatsApp messages or work documents as learning tools. I avoid boring textbooks unless you specifically want them. My goal is to make English part of your real life — not just a subject you study once a week.

My experience in action:
I've taught students who had never seen an English word before. In an indigenous community with no resources, I created picture-based lessons, used gestures and repetition, and watched grown adults speak their first complete English sentence. That taught me patience, humility, and creativity.

Later, I trained at Berlitz — a world-famous institute — where I learned their immersive method. That means I almost never speak Spanish or Guaraní in class. Instead, I use visuals, rephrasing, and real-world examples to help you understand naturally, the way you learned your first language.

Who I teach best:

Students who feel stuck, slow, or "bad at languages"
Adults and young learners who need practical, usable English
People preparing for travel, work, or online interactions
Anyone who wants a patient, encouraging, and reliable tutor — not a rigid instructor
Finally, my promise to you:
I will never make you feel embarrassed. I will never rush you. And I will always believe in your ability to learn — even on days when you don't believe in yourself. Teaching isn't just my job. It's my way of paying forward what was once given to me: a second chance to find confidence through language.

Let's learn together. One conversation at a time.
