Secondary / A-Level Experience:
Having recently completed my GCSEs and A level achieving an 8 (A*) in History GCSE and an A at A level, I have developed a strong understanding of how to succeed in academic history. This has earned me a place at the University of Bristol, which I have deferred until next September.
I feel well-qualified to help students prepare effectively for their exams. My approach would focus on developing exam technique, setting and marking essay questions, assisting with homework, and breaking down key topics in clear, engaging ways. I use a variety of methods such as acronyms, videos, and visual materials to make complex ideas easier to remember.
I also believe that history should be accessible and enjoyable. I aim to bring the past to life through relaxed discussion, interactive tasks, and contemporary comparisons that help students connect historical events to the modern world.
Primary Experience:
As part of my Duke of Edinburgh Award, I volunteered at Cherry Hinton Rainbows, where I helped to organise and lead activities for children aged 4–7. This experience taught me how to communicate clearly, manage groups of young learners, and adapt tasks to keep them engaged and focused. In addition, through regular babysitting, I have worked with slightly older children (7–12), supporting them with homework and everyday learning. These experiences have strengthened my ability to be patient, encouraging, and creative in helping children learn.I would aim to make history fun and approachable for younger students by incorporating storytelling, games, and hands-on activities that inspire curiosity about the past
