I am an A-Level student studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics, aiming for a mechanical or aeronautical engineering degree. I went to St Paul's, and at 11+ I got offers from several of the top London schools, so I know first hand how to prepare for competitive entrance exams and what actually makes the difference on the day.

I tutor a wide range of students. For younger ones I cover 11+ entrance exams, including ISEB verbal and non-verbal reasoning, which are as much about technique and timing as knowledge. I also teach GCSE and IGCSE science, and maths, including the Edexcel IGCSE specification, and English Language at IGCSE, including the Cambridge CIE specification. At A-Level I focus on Maths, Further Maths and Physics, the subjects I am studying at a high level myself.

My lessons are built around understanding the method, not just memorising answers. I teach step by step, showing why each step is done rather than just what to write, because once you understand the reasoning you can handle any version of a question. I use plenty of worked examples and past paper questions, since that is what really builds confidence before an exam, and I check understanding as we go so we never move on while something is still shaky.

Every lesson is prepared thoroughly and tailored to the individual student. Some need gaps filled in, some need stretching further, and some just need to build confidence and get faster under timed conditions, so I adapt the pace and focus to what that student needs. I am patient, clear and happy to explain something a second or third way if the first way does not land.
