With academic qualifications in English and french law including the Master's level BCL from Oxford University, I qualified as a barrister in 2005 and spent many years before my teaching career conducting trials and appeals in the County and High Courts and the Court of Appeal in England and wales. I have been teaching in higher and professional education since 2011 and also have some experience at GCSE and A-level. I have taught students of all abilities and know that each lerner is an individual with different goals and preferences. My influence over other tutors is attested to by my holding senior Fellowship of Advance HE< formerly the Higher Education Academy. My online classes are very much discussion-based and together we will make those discussions enjoyable. I will not tell you what to think. Rather, we will explore how to enjoy the subject, which in turn makes the exams easier. I have high expectations of my students and in return will make every effort to meet your own expectations of me as a tutor.
But the student experience goes beyond the online classroom. With me, you are also paying for high quality feedback on written work, and a commitment to align my tutorials to your specific learning environment, whether that is A-level prep or help in the run-up to Oxford finals. There is no standing on ceremony - if you forgot to ask a question during your class, pop it in an email and I will respond as quickly as I can.
I am able to offer classes in GCSE or A-level history, politics, law or french, alongside undergraduate or law conversion course level classes across a range of law modules. Specialist advocacy tutorials can also be arranged aligned with the requirements of the SQE or the barristers' training requirement.
