I usually start with the basics, like reading because most learners struggle with reading. If you can’t read the word, how will you know what it means?
I will recommend a specific book to the learner to read. They have one day to try and read the book, they have to make notes of the word they struggled with and that’s where I come in. We will sit work together.
That’s only how I usually start BUT, as we all know, not every child is the same. So, my duty as the tutor, I need to find new ways to help the specific learner. Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it is not but i love a good challenge because it brings out certain qualities of myself that I didn’t even know existed.
When the learner hears the word, they know what it means but then they don’t know how to write or spell the word correctly. That also becomes a problem but not to worry. It can be fixed. It’s solvable, okay?
This is why I am here.
When i was in preschool, my mother always told me that, i shouldn’t bother too much learning more about my home language, I should learn the english language because the world out there is starting to turn into a world of english. And what if you can’t speak, understand or write in the english language? You will get left behind .
That is why I am here. I, not only speak, understand and write the english language but, now I am able to teach others how to do in as well.
