I am an international school teacher with experience in upper and lower primary. I teach based on my student's interests. Be it sports, arts, video games, TV shows, I implement a connection between the language learning and their interests.

I have experience teaching EAL learners as young as 5 years old. It is important to me to make each lesson dynamic, including movements and brain breaks.

I teach with a phonics approach, this allows students to decode texts independently. Little by little students start to enjoy reading and ask for higher level stories and become more comfortable in their interpretation and comprehension of the text.

A common lesson of mine starts off with a provocation, a new subject that encourages students to think, question, and respond from the very beginning. Rather than starting with long explanations, I like to introduce an idea through a short prompt, example, or discussion that gets everyone involved.

From there, we explore the concept together. I usually combine explanation with guided practice so students can immediately apply what they learn. Lessons often include discussion, small exercises, and opportunities to experiment with the material. I adapt the pace depending on the student, making sure the content stays challenging but never overwhelming.

My goal is to create a supportive and curious learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and trying new approaches. Each lesson builds on previous ones, helping students steadily develop both confidence and understanding over time.
