I started teaching MFL (Italian and French) while being a post graduate student in London back in 2000, however it was not until 2009 that I contacted a few agencies and began working for them as a freelance trainer. Teaching was one among my other professions, including art journalism and tour guiding. After the Pandemic and its impact on education, I thought it was time to contribute in a truly meaningful way to young people’s lives through sharing my passion for languages, literature and the arts, enabling and inspiring interculturalism.
I have successfully completed the PGCE at King’s College London in 2023. I have thoroughly enjoyed the course and have developed a range of skills enabling me to start my language teaching career with confidence. These skills include being able to teach in a lively, engaging way, making the most of the target language and using technology to enhance learning. I have also learnt to differentiate learners including those with Special educational needs and abler pupils.
I am passionate about the cultural dimensions of MFL and seek to frame my lessons with rich cultural learning and interrogation.
