¡Hola! My name is Maria, and I'm a native Spanish speaker from Ecuador with a passion for teaching. I currently live in the US, where I run my own practice as a parenting counselor working with Spanish-speaking families.

My lessons are engaging and built around real-world application, not just memorizing vocabulary lists and grammar drills. I like to bring in everyday conversation, culture, and practical situations you would actually use in day-to-day Spanish, so the language feels alive. Every class is adapted to your pace, goals, and interests and level — whether that means focusing on travel Spanish, building conversational confidence, or working through grammar step by step.

I am patient by nature, and I have spent most of my life teaching and mentoring learners of all kinds of needs and backgrounds, so my focus is on your success and full comprehension of the lesson rather than just advancing to the next level. I also love weaving the culture behind the language — the expressions and context that make Spanish so rich — so your understanding goes beyond words, and you can learn how Spanish speakers think and communicate.

Beyond teaching, I have spent years communicating with international audiences in Spanish, French and English. I am also currently studying English myself to keep improving, so I understand firsthand what it feels like to be a language learner.
