My approach to tutoring is practical, flexible, and completely centred around the individual student. I know first-hand that there isn’t one method that works for everyone - some people learn through detailed notes, some through repetition and memorisation, and others need to see an idea broken down before it really clicks. I’m happy to work out what suits you and adapt my lessons around it.

I can help with all aspects of A-Level and GCSE study, from understanding and analysing difficult texts to planning essays, improving written expression, revising efficiently, and getting to grips with exactly what examiners are looking for.

If you’re studying OCR, I have plenty of my own notes, resources, essay plans, revision materials and other resources that I’m happy to share and work through with you - particularly for A-Level. Having recently studied these courses myself, I know how overwhelming it can be to figure out what is actually worth learning and how to turn all that knowledge into marks.

Depending on what you need, our sessions could involve:

• Breaking down difficult texts and making complicated ideas feel much more manageable
• Working through themes, characters, arguments, critics and context in a way that actually sticks
• Helping you memorise quotes, key ideas or content using methods suited to you
• Practising essay plans and timed essays and working out how to improve them
• Looking closely at the mark scheme and assessment objectives so you understand what separates a good answer from a top-band one
• Learning how to maximise marks rather than simply writing more
• Building a bank of flexible quotes, interpretations and arguments that can be adapted to different questions
• Or simply having someone to talk through a text or idea with until it makes sense
