I have taught for many years to a range of students from primary to secondary level, as well as adults . I have often prepared students for national exams like SATS (at the end of primary school), GCSEs (at the end of secondary school), 11+ (an exam to be admitted to grammar schools) and IELTS. My aim is always to build a happy and positive relationship with each student, to ensure that they are motivated to take part in the lessons. My lessons are based on learning through topics which are both interesting and fun. This has allowed me to become a successful teacher and a familiar face for my regular students.
Lessons are tailored according to the students age. However, they usually consist of a warm up activity (a game or a quick revision of the last topic), the introduction of the topic for the day through an input, a guided activity on that topic, a semi-independent activity and finally an independent activity on that same topic. I always make sure that each student is treated with respect and receive encouragement and praise.
