Manjusha Amey

Hi, I’m Manjusha! I’m a Zoologist and Marine Biologist with an M.Res in Marine Biology from the University of Plymouth, UK, and a Master’s degree in Zoology from the University of Kerala. I have over three years of experience supporting and teaching students in Biology and science-related subjects.

I believe Biology is much more than memorising definitions and diagrams—it is about understanding how life works and being curious about the world around us. In my lessons, I use simple explanations, real-life examples, diagrams, questions, and interactive discussions to make concepts easier and more interesting. I adapt my teaching approach to each student’s learning style, level, and pace, while creating a friendly environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes.

Alongside teaching, I have a strong interest in marine biology, environmental science, wildlife, and scientific research. My research experience includes microplastic pollution, marine ecology, molecular biology, and bioinformatics. I enjoy bringing examples from real scientific research into my lessons because I believe this helps students see how Biology connects to everyday life and current environmental issues.

Outside academics and teaching, I enjoy exploring nature, travelling, learning about wildlife, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. I’m also passionate about encouraging students—especially those who may feel that Biology is difficult—to become more confident and curious learners.
