- Use of Future Tense
- Use of ‘en’, ‘there are’, ‘there is’
- Use of Imperfect Tense + ‘this one’, ‘that one’ and key expressions to complain
- Use of Present Tense; talking about routines
- Ask for Directions, parking signs, hiring a car
- Go to the bank and Bureau de Change
In Year 11 I used ‘Auto A & B’ Textbooks in preparation to GCSE French Exam:
- Talking about préjudices ; « en général ils sont… »
- Talking about conflict of generations, relationship with family and friends + use of negation (ne pas, ne plus…)
- Living with a French family and asking questions about daily routine
- How to choose a hotel + use of pluperfect “j’avais reservé” and the object pronouns ‘ne, te, lui…’
- How to use a telephone booth in France, international calls…
- Lost properties, try to retrace a lost item using the Perfect Tense ‘je suis allé’
- Describe a house/flat. Accommodation and renting in France; quick reference to Simple Passed.
- Talk about Health and Fitness; use of Present Participle “c’est nourrissant…”
I also helped an A ‘level Student 1-1 to prepare for Module 6 using Textbook ‘Normandie’:
We covered all aspects of ‘la Normandie’ : ‘son histoire, traditions, folklore, ressources naturelles, géographie, agriculture, Industrie, pèche, son Art et son tourisme.
We also went through Grammar revisions at the end of each session. My student had to write a short essay a week as homework. We would always start the new lesson with feedback on his previous piece of writing; which I had corrected and marked.

Before joining Ealing College, I had trained as a MFL Teacher at South Thames College in Putney Hill. There I studied towards my ‘RSA Teaching Certificate’ for one year.
During my training, I compiled a Portfolio with teaching Evidence accumulated during my training:
- Needs Analysis questionnaire + Tests
- 1 year Course Plan
- Sequences of lessons + Lesson plans
- Essay on Teaching Techniques and Teaching Material
- Analysis of learner’s errors
- Marked Mock Exams
- Self-criticism of lessons as a teacher
My 8 weeks Teaching Practice:
I chose to teach an ‘As level class’ using ‘Essor’ as a Textbook and other material to support my lessons. I covered 3 topics:
- French Educational System + Subjunctive, Simple Passed, expressing intention to do something
- Regions of France + Qualifying Adjectives
- The Regionalisation of France + the Passive
I also taught French for absolute beginners to à groupe of 7 professionals at Tooting hospital. I used the communicative approach which covered Writing, Reading, Listening and Speaking Skills.
I also taught English as a Foreign Language in France as a Supply MFL teacher in Secondary schools.
