Hi! My name is Maisy and I am a 23 year old Law PhD student currently studying in Cardiff University. I have completed my undergraduate degree in Law and Criminology and my Masters degree in Law at Aberystwyth University. I have committed myself to broadening my legal horizon by volunteering for many different positions such as a volunteer in the Toybox project where I support children and families experiencing financial hardship and The White Ribbon Alliance UK where I volunteered on a Campaign against Medical Misogyny, and wrote a social media post titled “Not just a Womans Issue”. Alongside this I have completed a mentorship with Jeff Norman from StopSlavery UK to gain legal and case reading experience and to discuss the next steps of my career. Finally, I am now beginning a volunteer first responder role with the Salvation Army to support potential victims of human trafficking. Throughout my experiences I have gained many valuable skills such as, legal reading, case reading, analytical skills, professionalism, empathy, IT skills and more. Overall, I am an extremely motivated individual with a passion for learning, human rights and justice, and I would love to pass on the same knowledge and passions to other individuals just beginning their legal studies. I am very keen to teach and support others in a supportive, nurturing environment to ensure an that the student feels safe and welcome to learn and question concepts. Thank you for your interest, and I look forward to hearing from you! Maisy
