Having been through both GCSEs and O/A Levels myself, I know exactly what it feels like to be in that system. I understand the kind of pressure that comes with it, and I also know that many teachers, although very qualified, sometimes fail to empathize with students. Often, they don’t realize how much pressure students can realistically handle, and they may not focus on the areas that truly need attention.
That is why in my lessons, I try to do things differently. I keep my sessions interactive and practical, breaking the material into smaller, bite-sized pieces that are easier to digest. I also make sure that the format suits the student rather than forcing the student to adapt to me. Every learner is different, and I believe the teaching style should reflect that. I use a mix of mediums and methods depending on what works best for the student, whether that’s discussions, problem solving, visuals, or guided practice.
Since I was a high-scoring student myself, I know the value of making the right notes. I guide students on what is actually important to write down, how to structure notes properly, and how to filter out the less important details. This makes studying more efficient and less overwhelming.
Above all, I want my students to feel supported and confident. My goal is to make learning clear, approachable, and effective so they are well-prepared not only for their exams but also for future challenges.
