As a recent graduate with a degree in Cognitive Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Manchester, I bring a strong background in biology, having also achieved a grade 9 in my own GCSE Biology exam.

I offer one-to-one lessons with the first lesson free of charge! My lessons focus on explicit instruction and clear explanations, providing practice questions to help students achieve excellent results. My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, identifying their strengths and weaknesses and ensuring their current understanding is built upon. I carry out my lessons using screen sharing to show diagrams, slides, and practice questions. My lessons are adaptable and tailored to a variety of GCSE Biology exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR.

A typical lesson begins by defining clear learning objectives for the topic. I then explain the topic, using diagrams if necessary and ensuring all key content in the syllabus is covered. Throughout the lesson, I engage the student by asking questions and providing practice problems to reinforce understanding. My lessons aim to prepare students for the types of questions they will encounter in their GCSE exams, covering essential skills such as application, data analysis, evaluation, and maths, helping them master a variety of question styles, while also providing answers from the mark scheme to show exactly what examiners are looking for to award full marks for the question.

My lessons will have a strong focus on exam technique, teaching students how to structure answers, manage their time effectively, and tackle challenging questions, including those requiring extended responses.
