I am currently a fourth year medical student and have been teaching students for over 5 years. I have been tutoring students for KS2, 11+, SAT's and GCSE's. As a student I have been taught by many tutors and tuition centres and have seen the various methods used to help students thrive to their best abilities. Using my past experience I have been able to adapt my teaching styles specifically to each student and create tailored monthly plans to monitor their progress and help them reach their targets. My teaching style varies depending on the preferred methods by the students as no two students are the same. Most of my lessons will include up to date presentations to help with visualisation and engagement leading on to a bank of topic and exam board questions. The best way to learn content is through exam questions which is the closest practice you can get to the real exams. It is vital that students dedicate time outside of the lesson to ensure that they have fully understood the topic and it is for this reason i make sure that all my students have plenty of work to do outside of the time spent in lesson. This creates repetition and reinforces all the knowledge. All work provided will be marked and any misunderstandings will be corrected and retaught during the next lesson. My lessons are based on the correct specifications from the specific exam boards to ensure that students are taught the relevant information. From studying at an average state school in my city to one of Englands top 10 independent schools I have seen the difference in private education compared to state schools; my goal is to not only help students with their chosen subjects but also to help them achieve their main end career targets.
