I like to use PowerPoints to go through my lesson. I try and incorporate some questions as I go through the lesson to check understanding before moving on to a new concept. I always encourage my students to practise as many exam-style questions as possible at the end of every topic to ensure maximal learning and understanding. I prepare a few end of topic questions beforehand and practise those with the students in my lessons, in case they need prompting or help understanding. I love helping students understand scientific concepts and I am always happy to repeat myself in case the student is struggling to grasp the ideas. Alongside teaching science I am passionate about being a positive pastoral figure in the lives of my students too. I have been able to provide a good listening ear and also sit through some tough emotions with them. I am proud of having the ability to create a positive rapport with my tutees. I will be thrilled to teach you and help you out with Science during my sessions. I can also provide insight into what it is like getting degrees in Science and why STEM subjects will be the best option for you to choose at a University or post school level, should you choose to stay in academia. More than happy to arrange lessons during half term breaks, and all weekends (morning or evening).
