My name is Maeve, and I care about supporting students in their learning through conducting engaging and comprehensive lessons tailored for them and their goals. I am a first year student of Comparative Literature at UCL, fluent in Italian and have a conversational level of French. I lived in Italy for years, and therefore will be able to help Italian students of any level. That being said, I started learning French a year ago, and therefore understand the experience of learning a new language from scratch. My degree has given me an in-depth understanding of the mechanics of the english language, which I incorporate in my English as a Foreign Language classes.
Whether there is a specific exam a student is studying for, or a student is simply studying for the purpose of learning more, I will be able to help. I create specific learning materials for my students, and am always happy to mark work outside of our teaching hours. I also have created flashcards for students that have trouble memorising what we have gone over, and am more than happy to create revision materials for any students that would like so. I will also be able to provide progress notes for each session, which allows students to understand where their strengths and weaknesses lie.
Through my two years of experience of tutoring, I have learned that no two students learn the same way, and I am more than happy to adapt my teaching to the students needs in order to help them achieve their goals.
