My teaching style is supportive, focused and highly exam-oriented. As an experienced A Level Sociology and Criminology teacher, as well as an examiner, I understand exactly what exam boards are looking for and what separates a good answer from a top-grade response.
A major focus of my lessons is perfecting exam technique. I teach students how to structure essays effectively, develop clear and sophisticated analysis, evaluate theories and studies, and use evidence precisely to meet the assessment objectives. I help students understand not just what to write, but how to write it in a way that maximises marks.

My experience as an examiner gives me a unique insight into common mistakes, what prevents students from reaching the highest grades, and how to turn subject knowledge into strong exam answers. We will regularly practise exam questions, analyse model responses and use detailed feedback to continuously improve.

Alongside exam technique, I aim to make lessons engaging and accessible. I break down challenging concepts and theories into manageable ideas, while encouraging students to think critically and develop their own sociological and criminological arguments.

Every student is different, so I adapt my teaching to their strengths, weaknesses and goals. Whether you are aiming for an A/A* or looking to significantly improve your confidence and grades, my goal is to help you become a more confident, independent and successful exam candidate.
