I have previously worked at Kumon where I was a teaching assistant supporting students in both primary and secondary school. Therefore, from this experience I have found the best format in helping students is by finding the particular areas of the subject they find difficult and focusing on them. I do this by first asking them to try some questions to identify the topics for improvement. Then, I would explain the theory using various resources, e.g. textbooks. In my lessons, when explaining the theory I ensure its as interactive as possible, e.g. by using my whiteboard, as I have found this helps students the most. After they have a better understanding, I would ask them to complete some more questions on this topic to see if they have improved. Resources I would use in my lesson include, textbook questions, powerpoint presentations, YouTube videos, etc..
