I practise Hatha Yoga. My instructor's course provided me with a framework which I appreciate and which I now use as the basis for every class. I feel it addresses the basic needs of the learners while allowing for progression, covers a range of asanas for the main areas of the body and incorporates a mindfulness aspect.
My classes are always geared towards the needs of the learner. Where I have a mixed group of yoga students, I try to find a balance. My preparation will allow for advanced practitioners to deepen a stretch or try a more challenging aspect to the asana. Yoga is a journey - a saying any practitioner will hear frequently. My aim is help each learner on their journey.
I am also very aware of how practising yoga can help to create a strong body into old age or address aches and pains. The therapeutic benefits cannot be denied. Where possible, I will find appropriate stretches or movements to ease an ailing muscle or joint.
