My teaching approach is always tailored to the individual student. Unless a learner has a specific requirement, such as preparing for an exam or a particular short-term goal, I don’t follow a fixed lesson plan. Every student is different, so lessons are adapted to their level, pace, confidence and learning style.
At the beginning, I take time to understand where the student is starting from and what they would like to achieve. From there, I build lessons that balance structure with flexibility, covering speaking, listening, reading and writing, with clear explanations of grammar and vocabulary supported by practical examples.
For GCSE and A-level students, lessons are more targeted and focus on syllabus content, exam technique and past-paper practice, while still ensuring real understanding rather than memorisation. For other students, lessons may focus more on communication, fluency and confidence, depending on their goals.
I aim to make lessons clear, supportive and effective. I give regular feedback so students can see their progress and understand how to improve, helping them feel confident and motivated as they learn French.
