As a final-year Psychology student with an A* in A Level Psychology, I understand learning the content alongside of the demands of the course can feel daunting at times. Having been through the exams myself and now studying Psychology at university, I can offer practical skills advice around exam preparation and various revision methods, alongside aiding in subject knowledge to help students feel more confident and achieve their goals.
I tailor lessons to each students needs, and employ the methods they find most effective. Some lesson examples can be seen below:
- Topic by topic breakdowns of the content tailored to your learning style - Collaborative problem solving to aid your understanding - Past paper and exam style question practice with personal, constructive feedback - Essay guidance, including how to structure, utilise your knowledge of the subject and critically evaluate in those higher mark questions! - Support with research methods and statistics - A variety of other revision strategies and ways to make learning and cementing your understanding of the subject enjoyable!
Sessions are designed to be interactive and supportive, to create a comfortable environment where students can ask questions without feeling intimidated. I encourage active participation through discussion, active retrieval practice, and regular opportunities to apply knowledge to exam questions, whilst learning exactly what examiners are looking out for when marking papers.
My overall goal is not only to help students improve their grade in psychology, but also to help to build lasting confidence and enthusiasm for the subject!
