About me

I am led by the needs of the pupil, but plan to teach scales and arpeggios to develop technique, alongside learning pieces. Whilst I like to work through the grades so that we can feel progress and get a sense of achievement, if students want to play only for pleasure that is perfectly ok. Piano playing needs to remain enjoyable.

With previous experience in teaching up to grade 5, conducting a choir and singing, I aim to be supportive, nurturing and encouraging, helping students to make the best of their piano playing and gain a greater appreciation of music.
