My lessons are tailored to each student’s needs, goals and level of understanding. I begin by identifying the topics they find challenging and what they would like to achieve, then build lessons around these priorities. Whether a student needs help understanding a particular theory, preparing for an exam or developing an essay, I aim to make each session focused and useful.
I explain complex ideas in an accessible way, using practical examples and wider social context to bring topics to life. In sociology, this means helping students connect theories and research to contemporary issues, compare different perspectives and develop their own informed arguments. I encourage questions and discussion so that students can actively work through ideas and practise explaining them in their own words.
To support learning and revision, I can provide structured notes, spider diagrams and carefully selected academic resources suited to the student’s level. Lessons can also cover interpreting essay questions, planning written answers, evaluating evidence and using academic sources effectively. For GCSE and A-level students, I can focus on their syllabus and assessment requirements; at undergraduate level, I can support deeper engagement with sociological theory, research methods and academic writing.
I hold a BSc and an MSc in Sociology from University College London, A-levels in Sociology, Psychology and Polish, and a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. I am also currently studying Security Studies. My involvement in academic research and publications allows me to draw on practical experience of conducting research and developing academic arguments.
My teaching experience includes working in a Polish Saturday school, individual tutoring and leading a scout group. These roles have strengthened my ability to explain ideas to different age groups, maintain engagement and adapt my approach when something is not immediately clear. I can teach in English or Polish, and I aim to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, learn from mistakes and gradually become more independent learners.
